Strike Black was designed to embody a new concept for a summer fragrance; a perfume that draws its character from the Saudi desert and translates it into a world-class olfactory experience. Its idea began with Petroline's journey extending from the east to the west of the Kingdom, where the harshness of nature transforms into a source of inspiration, and expanse becomes a symbol of presence and steadfastness.

The result was a fragrance that combines freshness and depth, giving its wearer a presence befitting the Gulf summer, and a personality that leaves its mark from the very first moment.

The Designer

Jean-Christophe Hérault

Strike Black bears the signature of French perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault, one of the most prominent names in the global fragrance industry, and responsible for contributions to the development of several of the most famous contemporary perfumes, including Creed Aventus.

His selection came after a competition among an elite group of leading perfumers, to lead the development of a composition that reflects Assaf's vision for a summer fragrance born from the Saudi environment and crafted to the highest international perfumery standards.

From Nafud to Influence

In the desert, the ability to endure is tested.

And from the expanse of Petroline crossing the sands of the Saudi Nafud, Assaf was inspired by the idea of Strike Black; a fragrance that embodies Saudi ambition to reach from local roots to global presence. A journey that begins in the desert, carrying with it the spirit of the place, to arrive at an olfactory composition that crosses borders.
